Since MMC 8.1, owners of All-in-Wonder® cards have enjoyed MULTVIEW™ functionality by adding a TV WONDER PCI or PRO card to their system.

Q3: What operating systems support MMC 8.x?

A3:

MMC 8.x runs on Windows® XP, Windows® 2000, and Windows® ME. In addition, Microsoft® DirectX® 9 is recommended.

Q4 Will MMC 8.x run on Windows® 9X or Windows® SE?

A4:

For Windows® 9X/SE users, MMC 8.x will run using the Windows® ME drivers. However, support for capturing WMV9 content is not provided by Microsoft for Windows® 9X/SE. In addition, Windows® ME or Windows® 9X/SE systems with All-in-WonderS are not recommended as servers for EazyConnect™ functionality.

Q5: 5. What are the system requirements for MMC 8.x?

A5:
In addition to a built by ATI Radeon or All-in-Wonder card, the following list provides minimum system requirements:
  • Sound Card with DirectSound drivers
  • Motherboard with AGP or PCI bus slot
  • USB Port (for RF remote control)
  • PIII 500, AMD Athlon 500 or better recommended

  • DirectX 9

Q6: 6. What networking technologies support EazyConnect™ ?

A6: EazyConnect™ shared TV and captured content service works on 10/100BaseT, HPNA, and 802.11 b/g networks. Check the User Guide and Release Notes for specific configuration options for each type of network topology.

Q7: 7. How does EazyConnect™ work?

A7:

On a home network where one PC has an All-in-Wonder installed, users will be prompted during initialization of the TV Player to be a server or client. Only one All-in-Wonder may be a server with this release of MMC. Installing MMC on other computers in the house that have either Built By ATI graphics cards or All-in-Wonders users will install the client application. For this first release of EazyConnect™, four client connections are supported.

Client PC’s may request a live TV session or captured content playback from the server. This streamed session may be viewed by all clients. Controls are provided to support channel change requests from multiple clients, scheduling request conflicts as well as a network status utility. Refer to the MMC 8.8 User Guide for further details.

Q8: 8. Why am I being asked to insert my original software CD during my upgrade to MMC 8.x?

A8:

Upgrading to the most recent version of MMC requires your original software CD for validation purposes. If you cannot locate your original CD, please contact ATI customer support at ati.com.
