    ATI unveils the Mobility™ FIREGL™ T2 mobile workstation processor

    Desktop workstation-class graphics processing power for digital content creators and engineering professionals now available in HP Compaq mobile workstation nw8000

    MARKHAM, ON – Delivering an impressive combination of innovative technologies and desktop performance levels to the mobile workstation market segment, ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX:ATY, NASDAQ:ATYT) today unveiled the Mobility™ FireGL™ T2 mobile workstation processor.

    Now shipping in the industry-leading HP Compaq mobile workstation nw8000, the Mobility FireGL T2 delivers the industry’s best mobile workstation performance in key benchmarks including Viewperf 3dsmax-02 and proe-02 test suites1 . It also delivers lightning-fast geometry processing, realistic rendering, and optimized application performance for developers, CAD engineers and digital content creators.

    • Complete array of workstation features and functionality including dual monitor support, hardware accelerated anti-aliasing, overlay planes and more, providing superior image quality and productivity
    • Fully programmable pixel and vertex shader support is now possible with ATI's SmartShader™ technology, providing more control over content creation and added realism. Enables advanced per-pixel effects such as reflective bump mapping, anisotropic lighting and Phong shading
    • Maximized battery life and performance with ATI's PowerPlay™ technology
    • POWER-ON-DEMAND - constantly monitors system activity, dynamically adjusting clocks and voltage based on user scenario
    • Up to 6 textures per single rendering pass and 8 samples per pixel
